                Chief Executive Officer.  Negotiated and managed multiple HMO / PPO contracts with regional and national health plans on behalf of the alliance partners.  The alliance includes five Las Vegas, Nevada acute care hospitals of Universal Health Services, three small critical access hospitals surrounding Las Vegas, and several sub-acute and ancillary services partner providers.

 

UNIVERSAL HEALTH SERVICES, INC. - Publicly-traded national hospital and PPO company, Las Vegas, Nevada, 1994 to 2002

                Senior Director of Managed Care – Western Region   (1994 - 2002).  Nevada, Washington state and California managed care contracting for 7 hospitals in four markets, plus contracting oversight to all UHS hospitals and UHS managed care companies nation-wide.

 

SIERRA HEALTH SERVICES, INC. - Publicly-traded, west coast managed healthcare company (including HMO-Commercial and Medicare, PPO, ASO, and workerscompensation product lines), Las Vegas, Nevada, 1985-1994

                Director, New Business Development (1994) – Implemented regional expansion, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and acquisitions

    Director, Corporate Provider Services (1989-1993) – Directed the corporate provider credentialing, contracting, network policy development, communication, and servicing function of regional/ national HMO, PPO indemnity plans and administrative services; contracted provider networks in eleven states, and 52,000 providers; implemented new full-service, state-wide provider networks in 6 western and 4 southeastern states.

    Executive Director of Medical Affairs (1986-1989). – Directed corporate provider policy development; delivery system development and provider relations; managed: pharmacy services, utilization review and quality assurance programs, medical policy and benefits interpretation, and member services.


VARIOUS OTHER POSITIONS INCLUDING: Director/ Medical Delivery Systems for Health Plan of America; Executive Director for Lane County Medical Society, Executive Director for the Western Oregon Health Systems Agency.
